We seek to understand the molecular/genetic basis of diseases that disproportionately affect the people of Appalachian Ohio and that also are major world wide challenges. EBI investigators pursue internationally recognized research programs in:
- Growth Disorders
- Diabetes, obesity and related cardiovascular complications
- Autoimmune diseases, including Graves disease
- Inflammation
- Aging
- Infectious diseases
- Cancer
Through our increased understanding of these diseases, we develop diagnostics and therapeutics for health care.
The institute provides a rich and environment in which to study diseases from multiple perspectives. Our faculty comes from three academic colleges -- Osteopathic Medicine, Arts, Sciences and Engineering. EBI's unique environment allows our investigators to establish a wide network of collaborators both within and outside the university community. |
